Spring Keeneland Wedding

Real Weddings

Hilary & Johnathan’s Keeneland wedding took place on a rainy, spring day. Their wedding also occurred as the world began to shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With only hours until their wedding, and their guests arriving in Lexington we all became uncertain as to whether or not things would be able to happen as planned.

Nonetheless, the day went on as planned and everything happening in the outside world had been forgotten for one day.

Hilary and Johnathan’s invitations included a custom logo. The design of their big day centered around this logo. It contained their initials and was inspired by the classic, gold Keeneland logo that appears on the green Keeneland gates.

Hilary and Johnathan created gift boxes that were made out of a Kentucky Fried Chicken container with treats and goodies that paid tribute to the location in which they were getting married.

The Ceremony

The ceremony took place inside the Keeneland wedding barn. String lights hung from the rafters. White draping and their custom logo were placed at the front of the aisle. A string quartet began to play as the bride, escorted by her father, made her way down the aisle.

Keeneland Wedding Reception

As the ceremony came to an end, guests made their way past the white curtains and into cocktail hour. The cocktail hour space was located just outside the reception room doors. Drinks and appetizers were served. A guestbook was placed for guests to leave notes and advice for the newlyweds.

After the cocktail hour, guests were escorted into the Keeneland reception space and seated for dinner. The Keeneland reception room was beautifully decorated with white draping and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The tables had short and tall floral centerpieces consisting of pink and white flowers with greenery in gold vases. Their custom logo was used throughout the reception space on the menu cards and their wedding cake. A customized version even appeared as a neon light on their photo wall backdrop.

The night was filled with joy, happiness, and so much love. We were not sure as to whether it was the pending pandemic, the band’s incredible energy, or something else entirely, but all of the guests were dancing and enjoying the evening with the bride and groom.

Love persevered for one night, even though the outside world was uncertain. Everyone in attendance got to forget the unknown of the world and live in the love and celebration of Hilary and Johnathan’s relationship.

A huge thank you to all of the amazing people who helped make this day incredible!
