mother of the bride
Every flower, every centerpiece, table set up, furniture arrangement, dessert table was just so beautifully done. So many details and personal touches! We had a large wedding party and a lot of guests to transport around the city. Christy kept us all in-line and on schedule. She has such a calming manner and a demeanor that says, “don’t worry, we have this”. It allowed us to just enjoy the special day with our family.”
Hi, I’m Christy! I founded this company in 2017 but I’ve been in the wedding industry since 2007. When I started Christina Burton Events, I wanted to run a business with compassion and honesty.
My commitment to all my couples: I’m going to be there for you. I’m going to use my unique planning experience and problem-solving skills to ensure your wedding and the planning process is the most joy-filled experience for not only you, but your mom, dad, sister, brother, Maid of Honor, Best Man, and everyone else important to you.
When I’m not planning, you can find me reading, traveling or hiking with my husband and two Great Pyrenees floofs.

What do you love about working at CBE?
I love the relationships that I get to build with the clients and their families and friends. It truly takes a village to pull off a perfect day and I am so thankful for them. I love getting to make brides dreams come true and taking the burdens off of them for their big day.
Jen started out doing political fundraising in DC, but fairly quickly switched to event planning and she hasn’t looked back since! Jen worked for a planner in DC for three years before moving to Kentucky. Jen loves the fine details in the wedding planning process. Without the details the day would fall apart. Detailed planning is what she loves to provide for her couples, so they can relax and really enjoy their day.
What is your favorite thing about a client's wedding day?
I love the father daughter, mother son dances. I think being a mama myself has made this part just so special to me. Just seeing the parents dance with their kids always gets me!
Sarah has a great passion for design and thrives in fast-paced, creative settings, so naturally the wedding and event industry is a perfect fit for her. Sarah has a keen eye for the details and wants to ensure every aspect, big or small, is perfectly taken care of.
One of her favorite things about being a wedding planner is learning about each and every couple and experiencing their people share how much they love them on their biggest day!
Alexia discovered her passion for weddings in 2018, and decided to pursue it as a “side hustle” in 2020. She started working as an assistant for a venue, where she worked events, organized styled shoots, traveled to wedding shows, and provided day-of coordination for venue clients. Alexia truly wants every couple she works with to have the best day ever! No detail, no matter how small, will be overlooked.

Seeing the bride’s dream become a reality. I love seeing all of the details come together on the big day. After months of planning, it’s amazing to watch everything fall into place.
Grace's background began at an advertising agency where she did web design and public relations which included planning social and professional events. Once she moved to Louisville she began working as a French Pastry Chef at a local bakery. Grace brings a wonderful perspective from her diverse background in and around events.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a bride on her wedding day?
Let your vendors handle everything for you! That is what you hired them for, and everyone is so eager to jump in and help the bride. Let them! Delegate tasks and sit back, enjoy the moment, and surround yourself with people who make you feel your best. That is what you will remember most on your big day!
Kelly has worked in the event industry for over three years. Her first role was as a venue manager and then she transitioned to work here at CBE as an office and event assistant. Kelly is now our Team and Client Coordinator as well as a Lead Coordinator! Her organizational skills and attention to detail are a huge help for both her couples and our growing team. We are thrilled to have Kelly as part of the CBE family!

I love working with a team of amazing women! Christy is a master at her craft and gaining knowledge from her has been so rewarding. It takes a lot to produce an amazing event, and having a wonderful team to bounce ideas off of and learn from is so great. All of the CBE women are so kind and supportive, and I love being able to work with people who share my passion.
Caitlin is originally from Morehead, Kentucky, with almost a decade of wedding and event experience. She began her career at a private country club where her love for weddings truly blossoms. She fell in love with the process of working closely with couples and helping make their wedding day simple, easy going and fun.
What would you say is one of your greatest attribute as a lead?
One of the best compliments I received from a couple was that, I knew what they needed before they knew they needed it.
I always pay attention to not just the details we have planned but also the couple themselves. Making sure they are taken care of and are feeling good on their wedding and going the extra mile to make sure they feel celebrated on their wedding day.
