Ali & John’s Kentucky Garden Wedding

The day I first met Ali & John stands out in my memory. It was January and cold outside. I wasn’t super familiar with Louisville at the time, so I had asked them to pick one of their favorite places to meet for our initial consultation. They chose a local spot called The Champagnery, located in a hip neighborhood not far from downtown. As soon as I walked into the older building with high ceilings, a giant champagne list, and local artist’s paintings on the walls I knew we would get along great (and I had found a new favorite spot!)

I really enjoyed working with Ali and John to plan and design their summer 2019 wedding that took place at the beautiful Whitehall House & Gardens in Louisville. They are such a fun-loving couple that was always up for an adventure and even completed an Ironman competition while we were planning their wedding!

The bridal party began their day getting ready in the gorgeous house at Whitehall. Such a perfect backdrop for their day (and some of the most fun, vintage wallpaper I’ve ever seen!) Meanwhile, my team and I started transforming the tent by bringing the garden feel inside with lots of fresh blooms, greenery garlands, and candles.

When late afternoon arrived on that warm Kentucky Saturday, Ali and John’s family and friends were greeted with Watermelon Lemonade. They gathered in the shadowy garden while a light breeze blew, carrying the notes played by the string quartet. Following the heartfelt ceremony, cocktail hour took place in the open-air hydrangea garden.

The reception kicked off with Dance With Me Tonight which led into the perfect evening of fun, dancing, and so many smiles.
