Colleen and Ryan’s country club wedding in Indianapolis was all things classic and timeless, and it was the perfect reflection of their love story.
The Beginning
Colleen and Ryan met in law school about six year ago and became friends rather quickly. Colleen so naturally put it “We talked everyday for two years before we started dating, how we didn’t see it before,we don’t know!” Such a sweet start to their love story.
Since then they graduated law school, passed the Bar, have traveled a lot with their families, explored new places and moved in together. Then the big question came!
The Proposal
Ryan planned for this special moment to take place on a beautiful canyon hike. However, the initial plan had to change due to rain. Nevertheless, Ryan and Colleen went on their hike the following day. They woke up early to prepare for their day. Colleen noticed Ryan was taking a bit longer to get ready than normal, but she thought nothing of it. Ryan led them down a less crowded path. He put her hand on Colleen’s shoulders to stop her and he said “This is for real.” He then got down one knee in the middle of the forest and the rest is history!
The Country Club Wedding Day
Colleen and Ryan’s wedding day began as most do with the bride and groom getting ready in separate locations with their respective parties.
Colleen and her bridesmaids got ready at her parent’s home outside Indianapolis. Ryan and his groomsmen all met late morning for brunch at an Airbnb in downtown Indianapolis and it was about 10 minutes from St. John’s Evangelist Catholic Church where their ceremony took place.
The wedding party went to the Country Club first for photos. It was a classic setting with manicured greenery, flowers and trees throughout the grounds. The country club had a classic white finish with columns, large windows and arch ways around the exterior providing great background options for photos.
After photos, the wedding party made their way to The Church in downtown Indianapolis. The country club was only15 minutes away from the Indianapolis downtown area including the church, which made everything very smooth.
The wedding ceremony was a traditional and classic catholic wedding ceremony. Afterwards, everyone made their way to the country club.
The Classic Country Club
Guests were greeted with a glass of champagne when they arrived at the country club. Cocktail hour began immediately with passed appetizers and guests mingling.
The bridal party was announced in the reception room of the country club where guests were eagerly waiting for their arrival.
The reception space was beautifully decorated with a classic design. There was a large king’s table that separated the room with smaller round tables on each side. There were chandeliers and long curtains framing the windows that created a luxurious space. Tables were dressed with white linen, wooden chairs, gold silverware and accents and black napkins.
Fresh wedding flowers ran down the center of the king’s table and were placed on tall centerpieces on the round tables adding depth to the space.
Colleen and Ryan could not have chosen a better wedding day or location in Indianapolis. Their country club wedding was timeless, just like their love story.
