Alex and Stevan’s wedding at The Refinery in Louisville KY took place on a beautiful summer day last August.

Alex and Stevan both wanted their day to reflect their family heritages with a bright, festive Mexican theme. Succulents, bright patterns, and textures played a big role in creating this vision.

Alex’s bouquet was a stunning mixture of roses, ranunculuses, dahlias, ferns, succulents and more. There were hues of red, pink, lavender, green, and orange.

The ceremony took place in the courtyard at The Refinery. For the ceremony design we went with wooden garden chairs that The Refinery provided for us. We added in white umbrellas to provide shade for guests. We lined the aisle entrance with bright, colorful and bountiful floral arrangements.

The ceremony arch was made of wood pillars, cream fabric draped over the top and large floral accents that matched Alex’s bouquet.

The wedding reception at The Refinery was even more festive than the ceremony. We were in the Refinery South event space and it was the perfect canvas for their design. The layout of the room included round tables around the room with a large wooden king’s table going right down the middle that sat over twenty people for the head table.

The king’s table ran from the edge of the dance floor to the main entrance of the space. The bride and groom’s chairs were placed at the end of the table facing the dancefloor. The chairs were decorated with bright pink ribbons and small floral accents.
There were bistro lights strung above throughout the space with white Mexican flags hanging above the kings table.

The round tables had a mixture of tall and short centerpieces. The tall centerpieces consisted of bright colorful flowers on copper stands, and votive candles.

The short centerpieces had a mixture of copper geometric terrariums with moss, candles and succulents. There were clay pots and bright blooms as well.

This space and this wedding day perfectly reflected Alex and Stevan’s past with the marriage of their lives and their wonderful future ahead together.

This design was a joy to bring to life! Thank you to all of the vendors who helped make this happen at The Refinery near Louisville KY!
