Luceandy and Chris’ glamorous Indianapolis Union Station wedding took place on a beautiful summer day in late August.

The historic Crowne Plaza at Union Station in Indianapolis is one of the most iconic buildings in the city. The first “Union Station” was originally built in 1888. It has since gone through two renovations and has been converted into stunning spaces including the Crowne Plaza Hotel and The Grand Hall. Past presidents like Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson were only some of the prominent figures to walk through Union Station.

Inside this historic building there are multiple smaller rooms converted into event spaces: The Lincoln and Edison Rooms. Luceandy and her bridal party were able to get ready in the Edison North Room the morning of the wedding.

Luceandy and Chris chose to do a first look on the second story balcony that overlooked the Grand Hall in front of the iconic 20 foot diameter wheel window. It was a grand and beautiful backdrop.

The Ceremony

The ceremony took place on the first floor in The Grand Hall. The Grand Hall with it’s stunning grandeur has perfect symmetry in the arched doorways, lamp posts, 60 foot barrel ceiling with original stained glass in the middle. Not to mention the large stained glass window wheel as the focal point.

We designed the ceremony to be cohesive with the Grand Hall particularly in the red, white and gold color scheme. A large white backdrop with gold curtains and a white stage were set as the altar. We alternated tall and short floral arrangements lining the aisle. 160 gold chairs with white cushions were used for seating. The Grand Hall is so massive we didn’t even fill up the room with that many seats, we used roughly two-thirds of the space.

After the ceremony guests enjoyed cocktail hour in The Foyer of the Grand Hall. This space features a three story red brick and pink granite structure known as a geometric phenomenon. Appetizers and drinks were passed and enjoyed by guests in this remarkable setting.

Meanwhile the Grand Hall was being flipped from the ceremony set up into the reception space.

The Reception at Union Station

The reception layout utilized both long and round tables throughout the room with the dance floor at the center. Luceandy and Chris had a sweetheart table in the center of the room in front of the dancefloor.

A mixture of tall and short floral arrangements were used as centerpieces along with soft white candles. White patterned linen was used on both the chairs and the tables.

Pink uplights were used along the edge of the room and to highlight the dance floor.

With all of the glamorous decorations paired with the impeccable architecture of the room this reception was absolutely striking.
