Whitehall House & Garden

Starting off the list with Whitehall House & Gardens! This 19th century antebellum home creates the perfect romantic and elegant backdrop for a wedding day. The gardens surrounding the home are a setting unlike any other for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and photos making this an epic Louisville KY wedding venue!
Things we love:
- Bridal parties can get ready for their big day inside the mansion (which also has the most beautiful wallpapered rooms)
- Open catering and bar policies
- Large paved tent pad behind the house, perfect for a 40’x100′ reception tent
- Close proximity to downtown Louisville
- Cocktail hour in the Hydrangea Garden

Hurstbourne Country Club
9000 Hurstbourne Club Lane, Louisville, KY
A staple country club on the east side of Louisville, Hurstbourne Country Club has one of our favorite outdoor ceremony spaces. Their chapel in the middle of their golf course is unique yet classic and elegant.
Things we love:
- Outdoor Ceremony Chapel (shown in photo below)
- Cocktail hour in the garden
- Great bride and groom rooms to get ready in
- Access to a golf cart to guarantee you get the best photos
- Dining room for dinner with a wall of windows overlooking the golf course

Hotel Distil
101 W Main Street, Louisville, KY
A bourbon themed hotel in a fantastic location on Louisville’s Whiskey Row. Hotel Distil has a rich Kentucky and bourbon feel that will be the perfect bluegrass welcome for your out-of-state guests.
Things we love:

- The ability for your guests (and you) to stay right on site making things ultra-convenient
- An outdoor terrace for rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour, and brunch

Germantown Gables
986 Swan St. Louisville, KY 40204
Germantown Gables is a large modern, Kentucky wedding venue serving clients in the heart of Louisville. This venue has a huge indoor space that’s big enough to fit over 400 people (cocktail hour style), a spacious courtyard and getting ready suites all while being in Germantown in Louisville – within walking distance or a short 5-10 minute drive to hotels, airbnbs, restaurants, parks and more. This convenient location makes planning a wedding a breeze.
Things we love:
- The steel beams that can swivel overhead in the main event space
- The large outdoor courtyard
- The natural light from all the wall and ceiling windows

21c Museum Hotel
700 W Main Street, Louisville, KY
21c Museum Hotel perfectly mixes contemporary art, a boutique hotel, and incredible food & drink. Their event space is filled with one-of-a-kind artwork that makes this a perfect location for a more intimate event.
Things we love:
- A rooftop apartment with private garden for the bride and groom
- They have an art-filled atrium that can fit up to 120 guests – oh and there is a floating staircase!
- Four private galleries perfect for intimate dinners or cocktail hours
Seelbach
500 S 4th Street, Louisville, KY
The Seelbach is a luxury hotel staple in Louisville with so much rich history! It was established in 1905 and it’s past delivers so much distinct character. This hotel provides all the Al Capone and Gatsby feels!
Things we love:
- The Rathskeller: an underground room filled with dramatic archway pillars
- Pet-friendly accommodations (bring along your furry family member for those wedding photos!)
- A Grand Ballroom with marble wall accents, crystal chandeliers and an elegant fireplace
- The Grand Staircase in the main lobby – amazing photo opportunities!

Oxmoor Farm
Oxmoor Woods Parkway, Louisville, KY
Nestled eight miles outside of downtown Louisville, Oxmoor Farm is a historical gem that gives you a glance into Kentucky’s past. The sprawling 18th Century Kentucky house, tree-lined driveway, charming outbuildings, and manicured gardens offer a spectacular backdrop for a wedding ceremony and tented reception.
Things we love:
- Stunning gardens with a water feature, wooden archways and small gazebo, perfect for ceremonies or cocktail hours
- A library (I mean, check out that photo above – stunning!) that fits up to 120 guests

Kentucky Derby Museum
704 Central Avenue, Louisville, KY
The Kentucky Derby Museum is one of the most popular locations around Louisville, celebrating the rich tradition and history surrounding the Kentucky Derby Event taking place every May.
Things we love:
- Located next to the legendary Churchill Downs Racetrack
- Photo opportunities with horses for the bride and groom (see a beautiful example above)

Peterson Dumesnil House
301 S Peterson Avenue, Louisville, KY
Located in the Crescent Hill neighborhood, not too far from downtown Louisville, this House was built in 1869 and features a Victorian-Italian villa facade, wrap-around porch, spiral staircase, and distinctive cupola. This venue offers so much character, history, and a gorgeous backdrop for your day.
Things we love:
- Large backyard able to host a tented reception for up to 500 guests
- 14 ft tall ceilings and floor to ceiling windows indoors

Frazier History Museum
829 W Main Street, Louisville, KY
The Frazier is a history museum located in the West Main District of downtown Louisville. If you walk inside and up to the third-floor bourbon exhibit, you will see why it’s the official starting point of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
Things we love:
- A rooftop garden that provides panoramic views of the Ohio River and the downtown Louisville skyline
- The expansive industrial-style loft space with brick walls, and plantation shutters
- Lots of hotel options within a half-mile or less
- The option to have your cocktail hour in their impressive Bourbon hall exhibit – that’s something your guests will never forget!
Waterfront Botanical Gardens
1435 Frankfort Avenue, Louisville, KY
The Waterfront Botanical Gardens lie within the boundaries of one of Louisville’s oldest city areas, known as “The Point.” This venue offers unique indoor and outdoor spaces that can host either large or intimate celebrations.
Things we love:
- The Water Wall – such an impressive ceremony backdrop!
- Beautiful views of downtown Louisville
- The patio overlooking Beargrass Creek

Speed Art Museum
2035 S 3rd Street, Louisville, KY
As Kentucky’s oldest and largest art museum, the Speed Art Museum offers a unique and artful setting. A dynamic array of architectural styles is represented across the museum, from the classically inspired original building to recent additions.
Things we love:
- Floor to ceiling windows with a reflecting pool is a gorgeous location for ceremonies (pictured above)
- The 1927 Building has galleries, classic architecture, and a Grand Staircase creating an unbelievable event space and photo opportunities
- The English Renaissance Room is perfect for intimate dinners.
- There’s a fully equipped gourmet kitchen for vendors
Story Louisville
900 E Main Street, Louisville KY
Located in the Nulu neighborhood, Story was created to be a shared space for freelancers and creatives to work together. The collaborative area filled with soft seating is a perfect cocktail hour location while the main event space is an ideal space for ceremonies and receptions.

- The exposed brick, neutral hard-wood floors, and natural light in the event space
- A cocktail hour space full of soft seating for you to use
- Mahogany Chiavari chairs that come with your rental and look wonderful in their reception space

The Henry Clay
604 S 3rd Street, Louisville, KY
In the heart of downtown Louisville, The Henry Clay is known as an elite venue with its stylish ballrooms and historic location.
Things we love:
- A romantic courtyard with exposed brick and twinkling Italian lights
- Hospitality suite for the bridal party
- The Grand Ballroom with brocade paneled walls and chandeliers
- Stained glass windows and ceilings in the Beaux-Arts Ballroom
- A downtown location that makes hotels convenient for you and your guests
Hazelnut Farm
816 Eastwood Fisherville Road, Wilsonville, KY
Designed from the ground up as a wedding and event venue, Hazelnut Farm did not miss any details when it came to making sure their space could check all the boxes.
Things we love:
- They’re just 15-20 minutes from downtown
- Plenty of parking
- Bride and groom suites on site
- All-day facility rental
- Open vendor policy
- Outdoor lake-side ceremony option
- A giant back patio for cocktail hour
- Working fireplace in the reception space – talk about a cozy addition for a winter wedding

3rd Turn Oldham Gardens
6300 Old Lagrange Road, Crestwood, KY
Located in Crestwood, Kentucky in a once-thriving garden center is now a beer garden like no other. 3rd Turn Oldham Gardens is on one acre filled with established trees, wooden tables and benches, and natural florals.
Things we love:
- Their event space is an old garden greenhouse that’s completely open to the elements but makes a great thing to hang decor from. Not to mention there’s a wisteria tree growing over the structure creating a leafy ceiling, with intermingled twinkling lights is simply magical (not to mention for a couple of weeks in the spring is full of purple flowers!)
- Dog-friendly outside
- This unique space is truly one of a kind and unlike any other wedding venues in the area
- All their hand made wooden tables and seating that come with the rental of the space
- Not too far from Louisville, and has plenty of parking on site
- As of the time of writing this, they only offer wedding rentals on Sundays
Yew Dell Botanical Gardens
6220 Old Lagrange Road, Crestwood, KY
The Yew Dell Botanical Gardens is an inspiring collection of unique gardens and indoor spaces. The variety of building structures and architecture throughout the property allows this space to fit any wedding theme and because of the variety of gardens, something is always blooming at Yew Dell. This place is an absolute dream.
Things we love:
- 20 minutes outside of Louisville
- The stone castle can hold up to 60 guests but also a beautiful backdrop for any photo (pictured above)
- The Log Cabin is a great option for a groom’s ready room
- Spacious lawn, lined with plants, florals, and trees
- An iconic row of holly trees called The Holly Allee creates stunning photo opportunities
- Large structural beams inside the Gheens Barn
- The Stone Terrace with market lights and rustic barn backdrop is the perfect recipe for gorgeous cocktail hours

Hermitage Farm

Located twenty miles outside of Louisville, Hermitage Farm is known for its legendary thoroughbred operations, sustainable, organic farm-to-table dining, bourbon experience, and contemporary art. With over 650 acres of rolling pastures, this wedding location has such a wonderful Kentucky feel!
Things we love:
- The Hayloft event space! With hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling bourbon barrel rick, and hundreds of globe lights – this space is incredible!

Ashbourne Farms
