Brittany and Sean’s wedding took place on a beautiful fall day at the historic and timeless Laurel Hall wedding venue in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Brittany and Sean set the tone for their big day with their unique invitations by the incredible Blu3 Designs. The invitations had a custom illustration of Laurel Hall with floral and greenery, that matched their wedding flowers and color scheme.
The bridal party got ready at the bride and groom’s home. The groomsmen got ready at The Alexander in downtown Indianapolis. The bridal party made their way to Laurel Hall for the finishing touches of their wedding day looks by putting on their gowns in the bridal suite.
The bride had a gorgeous bouquet consisting of pink and white roses, white dahlias, and baby blue eucalyptus. Brittany also requested that her bouquet have lavender incorporated since her parents own a lavender farm in Northern California. The same flowers were mirrored in other areas of the wedding from the ceremony arch to the dinner centerpieces.
The bride and groom did a first look inside Laurel Hall’s iconic wood stairwell. The dark, rich wood paired with the stained glass windows created a beautiful and intimate setting for their first look.
The Ceremony
The ceremony took place outside Laurel Hall on the back lawn. The established building and backyard gardens provided the backdrop for the ceremony.
The wedding party came from Laurel Hall and down the stately stone stairwell. The stairs were decorated with greenery and white floral that were added to intentionally look like it might always be present in the space. One of our favorite design strategies is to use the venue where the couple has chosen to have their special day and make the design look cohesive with that space.
The decorated stairwell, the autumn leaves, and the classic Laurel Hall building, made for timeless wedding photos.
The bride and groom made sure to include their loving Dalmation pup, Pongo, in the wedding festivities as well.
Cocktail Hour
Guests transitioned into cocktail hour inside Laurel Hall. Guests enjoyed cocktails before dinner in the Solarium and the Formal lounge. The Solarium was a beautiful location with plenty of natural light from arched windows, high ceilings, and a grand fireplace. The Formal dining room had wooded beams, a stately fireplace, and stately furniture for guests to enjoy.
The Solarium was decorated with soft seating that echoed the wedding colors of emerald green, gold, and white. The cake display included fresh wedding flowers and colorful macaroons.
The cake was presented in front of the traditional stone fireplace in the Solarium. Wedding photos from past family members were displayed in the lounge.
The Reception
After the cocktail hour, guests made their way to the outdoor terrace of Laurel Hall for dinner.
The reception circled around the emerald green, white, pink and gold color scheme. First, there were emerald and pink linen and golden chairs, flower arrangement vases, and lanterns. Second, pink, white, and green flower arrangements were on each table, sitting on top of wine barrel tops to incorporate the bride being from the California wine country. Tall and low floral arrangements added interest to the space. Third, the bar and soft seating areas inside Laurel Hall had similar bouquets as well.
Soft market lighting lit up the terrace to extend the party into the evening.
Brittany and Sean truly had a picturesque day full of timeless elements and beautiful memories. Above all else, it is Brittany and Sean’s true love for one another that will never go out of style. We loved being Brittany and Sean’s Indianapolis wedding planners!
